About

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Jon Setzen and I am the Creative Director at Media Temple – the web’s hosting company. I also run and host the Los Angeles chapter of Creative Mornings.

You can connect with me on: Twitter, Dribbble, and of course by email.

From 1999 – 2009 I worked under, and later ran a studio, called Standard Motion in Brooklyn, NY. During that time I worked with many talented designers and programmers developing interactive and print design projects. Over the years I’ve been fortunate to work with a wide range of clients, such as: Sony Music, Sony Pictures, Alicia Keys, The San Francisco Chronicle, Black & Decker, American Photo Magazine, Nikon, Target, Jive Records, 826LA, The Oregon Symphony, Disney, Redux Pictures, The Municipal Arts Society of New York and numerous professional photographers.

I’ve designed close to 300 rock posters for bands including: Built to Spill, Cat Power, The Vaselines, KRS-One, Stars, The Go Team, Sufjan Stevens and literally hundreds more. You can still find some of the posters for sale at InSound.com. My posters, prints and illustrations have been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Indianapolis, Leeds, Copenhagen and Tokyo.

My work has been featured on Apartment Therapy, How Magazine Blog, JoshSpear.com, Behance Network, Design*Sponge and this old interview from Gothamist.

I now live in the lovely Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles with my wife, two sons and cats (our dog is on a long-term vacation in San Francisco). I am thankful for the non-stop beautiful weather in this town.
