Wunderlist

Have you tried Wunderlist? I’ve tried a bunch of productivity/task management apps and their all just ok. The one thing they’re all sort of lacking is the ability to collaborate tasks with other designers, team members, etc. Wünderlist rules. It’s free, it’s simple as can be, you can access it online, on your iPhone, on your iPad and it syncs perfectly.  It’s definitely the best one I’ve come across yet.

My sister got married

My little sister got married two weekends ago in the Presidio in San Francisco. This pic of my dad watching my sister and her husband get their picture taken – sums him up in a nutshell. Love that dude.  The Golden Gate Bridge is fogged over in the background – such a perfect day.

Generationals

Generationals live at the Echo from jon setzen on Vimeo.

2011 is shaping up to be a banner year for music. So many good records have come out: Bon Iver, Black Lips, McCartney reissue, etc. One record I have been listening to for months is “Actor-Caster” by Generationals. It’s a great summery pop record which just doesn’t get old. I went to see them the other week at The Echo and definitely would go back to see them again – a perfect show for a Summer night – goes well with Red Stripe. Check out their album.

LosAngeles/CreativeMornings with Poketo

Our July Creative Mornings was one of our biggest productions yet and featured the dynamic husband/wife duo behind Poketo. Ted and Angie gave a wonderfully honest and personable presentation about how they built their brand, how they’ve grown their business and where they’re taking it. The talk took place at the stunning Herman Miller Showroom in Culver City which is one of the more beautiful office spaces I have ever seen. Everyone kept saying “It’s Herman Miller. You expect it, but even this is surprisingly awesome.” So many people to thank for this one – firstly the Poketo crew: Ted and Angie from Poketo, all the Poketo employees especially Dikka who took the rad photos above.  Secondly, everyone at Herman Miller: Cerentha (editor of Lifework who got the ball rolling), Julie and Gigi (pictured with Ted and Angie above) who took care of literally EVERYTHING so I didn’t have to. Big thanks to all our volunteers specifically Grant Keiner for shooting video. See you in all in August!
